About Me

I’m Lyra (like lyr-ics) — a writer, educator, and creative communicator. I’m drawn to stories that reveal the humanity behind systems, structures, and everyday life. Whether I’m interviewing people about healthcare and aging, exploring the ethics of AI, or capturing quiet moments through writing and images, I bring curiosity, care, and clarity to everything I create.
My background spans journalism, media, and music. I hold a BA in Journalism with a minor in Professional Communication from MacEwan University, and I’ve spent over a decade as a singer-songwriter and music educator. Across every format, I’m driven by connection, creativity, and a deep respect for people’s stories.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me swimming, training dogs, or writing songs.
“Forever is composed of nows.”
